Itinerary
Our driver will pick you up from the airport and will take you to your stay. Traditional Ladakhi check-in, welcome tea/ coffee will be served. Ladakh is 3500 mts above sea level, we advise the rest on this day, you can be at leisure. This enables the body to acclimatize to the rarefied air and high altitude. In the evening, a planned tour trip to Shanti Stupa situated at a height of 4267 mts overlooking Leh city, gives a panoramic view of the surrounding snow-capped mountains.
Shyam Valley Spituk Monastery ( Kali Mata Temple) Patthar Sahib Gurudwara – the Gurudwara was built in 1517 to commemorate the visit to the Ladakh region of Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of the Sikh faith. Magnetic Hill – a gravity hill alleged to have magnetic properties, strong enough to pull cars uphill and force passing aircraft to increase their altitude in order to escape the magnetic interference, in reality, an optical illusion. Hall of Fame - glorious museum constructed & managed by the Indian Army. A pace to see the memorabilia, images, and weapons used during the Kargil and other strategic battles fought in Ladakh. Confluence point ( of Indus and Zanskar rivers).
Drive to Khardung La: Khardung La is the highest motorable pass in the Ladakh region. Going further ahead towards the most fertile region of Ladakh, Nubra Valley. Hunder Sand Dunes: Between Hundar and Diskit lie several kilometers of sand dunes, and (double humped ) Bactrian camels graze in the neighboring forests of sea buckthorn. A place to see all shades of nature on one frame. Diskit Monastery: It is the oldest and the largest Buddhist monastery in the valley, beautifully placed above the flood plains of the Shyok river. Stay at beautiful heated tents in Nubra.
Pangong Tso at an altitude of 14,500 fy is 4-5 km wide and over 135 km long, about two-thirds of which lies on the other side of Indo-China LAC (Line of Actual Control). Pangong Tso was featured in the last scenes of 2010 movie, 3 idiots. After the success of the movie, this beautiful natural location has attracted more tourists from all over the world. You would reach the lake by noon, spend some time relax and enjoy your lunch overlooking the lake. Leave by 3 Pm for Leh
We can go for a walk nearby or shop at the local market, but we recommend keeping this day at leisure and just unwind.
Flyback with beautiful memories and pictures.
